Fraudster Sentenced in Darnytskyi District Court

According to TSN.ua: A man has been convicted by the Darnytskyi District Court of Kyiv for forging a military medical commission (MMC) certificate. His intent was to illegally obtain state benefits and leave Ukraine during the ongoing martial law. The court established that the man had originally received a Group II disability classification from the Dobropillia branch of the Donetsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.

On June 28, 2024, he applied to the Pension Fund of Ukraine for a disability pension of 2,361 hryvnias. Subsequently, on July 12, 2024, he attempted to process additional state aid at the Podilskyi District State Administration's social protection office in Kyiv. During the investigation, the man admitted his guilt and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor.

Punishment and Consequences

As part of the agreement, the man transferred 50,000 hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The court found him guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: attempted fraud, and the production and use of forged documents. His final sentence is a fine of 3,000 non-taxable minimum incomes, equivalent to 51,000 hryvnias. His 'Samsung A05s' mobile phone was also confiscated.

It is notable that the man sought pensioner status to evade military mobilization. This case highlights the severe consequences for attempting to defraud the state, particularly under martial law. Such schemes to avoid service or illicitly gain benefits are treated with particular severity during wartime.

This case underscores the critical importance of adhering to the law, especially under martial law when state resources must be directed toward supporting the military and ensuring national stability.

It also demonstrates the active efforts of law enforcement in combating crimes against the state, which should serve as a warning to other potential offenders.
