Consequences of the flood in Bosnia and Herzegovina: 19 victims
As of October 4, the number of victims of the devastating floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina has increased to 19 people. The municipality of Jablanica was hardest hit, with 16 people killed. Three more bodies were found in the city of Fojnica. Heavy rains that began on Friday night caused flooding in several cities in the central and southern parts of the country, destroying houses and farm buildings. This was reported by the Balkan service of Radio Free Europe.
Against this backdrop, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković volunteered to provide all necessary assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The high representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, also confirmed the readiness to help. He emphasized that Bosnia can take advantage of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which it joined in 2022.
