Kyslytsia sharply reacted to the UN and RF event on terrorism protection.
The United Nations (UN), together with the government of the Russian Federation, held an international event in Turkmenistan on the protection of critical energy infrastructure from terrorist attacks, reports Ukrinform.
"Vladimir Voronkov (Deputy Secretary-General - Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, former Russian diplomat) decided together with the government of the aggressor country, which almost daily bombs Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure, to organize an expert meeting in Turkmenistan on November 11-12 about protecting critical energy infrastructure from terrorist attacks," said Sergiy Kyslytsia, Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN.
"Well, it's roughly like inviting a drug cartel to organize and finance the development of plans to fight the illegal drug trade. And this drug cartel would also have a delegated head of the anti-drug trafficking department," added Kyslytsia.
According to Kyslytsia, Voronkov is a former representative of Russia at international organizations in Vienna. He justified violations of international law and the UN Charter by the Kremlin alliance. For example, in 2015 Voronkov accused the UN of "lying" regarding Crimea's belonging to Ukraine.
In June 2017, Voronkov was appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the UN and Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office.
