Saved after a ballistic strike in Dnipro: how medics reconstructed a shattered arm.
According to ТСН: Colleagues stopped the massive bleeding, rescuers evacuated the woman from the fifth floor, and medics restored her seriously injured arm. This story of saving Mrs. Lyubov in Dnipro has become a true example of heroism.
On December 1, as a result of a ballistic missile strike by Russian troops on the building, one of Mrs. Lyubov's colleagues and three other people were killed.
About the efforts of those who saved her life, Mrs. Lyubov told the TSN correspondent.
Rescued by colleagues
The last thing Mrs. Lyubov saw before the explosion was a brown bag that she had almost finished packing at her workplace. Mrs. Lyubov recalls:
“It happened literally in the blink of an eye. And it wasn’t even clear what had happened because there was a bang, and then my arm was dangling. And just like that, a stream of blood. I realized that I was bleeding out.”
Fortunately, her colleagues immediately took action and stopped the bleeding with improvised means.
Mrs. Lyubov expressed her admiration for the rescuers:
“The rescuers are absolutely titans! They are incredible people! When they arrived, they immediately got to work. They know what to do, and our path was blocked, so I had to escape through the window.”
A miracle in the operating room
Mrs. Lyubov thought she would not be able to save her arm. The medics admit that the chances of success were slim, but their efforts proved effective.
“The arm was hanging by a flap of skin and there was a vascular-nervous bundle. There was peripheral pulsation, which allowed us to reconstruct this arm. They stitched the skin and restored the integrity of the bone.”
Mrs. Lyubov was most worried about her colleague Svitlana, with whom she had worked for over ten years. In the hospital, she learned that Svitlana had died.
“She was a kind, bright person. Her husband went to the front, her older daughter went abroad, and her younger son was left alone. Kind! Bright! Young! It’s terrible!”
As a result of the tragedy, four people died, and almost fifty were injured. There are still 28 injured persons in hospitals, two of whom are in critical condition.
“They are still in a coma, but there is a small positive dynamics; we see that vital functions are improving. We are doing everything possible to ensure that everyone survives.”
Currently, Mrs. Lyubov is on the road to recovery. After a two-hour operation, the fingers of her restored arm are already moving.
She dreams of returning to work and thanks everyone who helped her:
“I urge everyone to learn how to provide first aid!”
This tragic event has become not only an example of the heroism of medics and rescuers but also a reminder of the importance of readiness for emergencies. For Mrs. Lyubov, despite the pain of loss, the main thing is the possibility of recovery and returning to normal life.
