Budanov names the main problem of peace negotiations with Russia.
The disputed territorial issue in the war in Ukraine
According to ТСН: The main "stumbling block" in the negotiations for ending the war in Ukraine remains the territorial issue.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with "Suspilne".
Budanov also commented on his recent statement about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement in February 2026.
"Calculatively, this is the most favorable period for both Russia and Ukraine to achieve something. This is related to military activity, the heating season, and so on. A lot is involved. I'm just giving you my conclusion already."
In addition, earlier Kyrylo Budanov clarified the reasons why there are queues at military recruitment offices in Russia, while scandals arise with territorial recruitment centers in Ukraine.
Thus, territorial issues remain the main obstacle on the path to peace, and Budanov's comments highlight the importance of military and social dynamics in both countries in the context of possible negotiations. These issues require special attention, as their resolution will determine the further development of events in the region.
