Sikorski on Zelensky's visit to Poland: Would not lose his crown

According to ТСН: The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski expressed the opinion that, while demanding honors or thanks from Ukraine during the war is inappropriate, President Volodymyr Zelensky could ask for a visit to the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

This statement was made by Sikorski during the morning broadcast of RMF FM, responding to the decision of Polish President Karol Nawrocki not to visit Ukraine.

“The persistent demand for apologies and respect in a situation where they are fighting for their lives disgusts me, but on the other hand, President Zelensky would not lose his crown if he requested a visit to the Presidential Palace while passing through Poland,” Sikorski said.

Sikorski also mentioned that according to diplomatic rules, a president with a shorter term visits a president who has held the position longer, however, the war introduces adjustments to these rules.

“I hope this is not an excuse to show animosity towards a country that bravely fights and keeps Putin's troops away from our borders,” Sikorski added, commenting on Nawrocki's position.
