Corruption schemes in 'Ukrzaliznytsia'. NABU reported the details in its report.

During the first half of 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office exposed several corruption schemes and seized about 350 million UAH from suspects. During this period, in cases of NABU and SAP regarding corruption in "Ukrzaliznytsia", 262 million UAH, $1.3 million, 754 thousand euros, as well as a lot of movable and immovable property, were seized from the accounts of suspects and companies controlled by them.

According to law enforcement agencies, two organized groups were exposed, which abused during the procurement of cable and wire products, causing damage amounting to 117 million UAH to "Ukrzaliznytsia". The leader of the first group devised a scheme for supplying products at inflated prices, while the second group, which included officials of "Ukrzaliznytsia", ensured the victory in tenders of enterprises owned by an entrepreneur. Another criminal group preserved over 94.8 million UAH during the war.

The leader of this group, with the help of "Ukrzaliznytsia" employees, became a supplier of power transformers for the company, which chose the "necessary" company. This company artificially increased the price of transformers, which were sold to "Ukrzaliznytsia" for almost twice the price. Seven people became suspects in this crime.

Recall that the head of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Yevhen Liaschenko stated that the company expects losses by the end of the year, although now it receives a profit of 3.1 billion UAH. He also proposed to once again increase the tariffs for freight transportation, which had already risen by a record 70% during the war.

Earlier, former Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan called on the government to dismiss the management of "Ukrzaliznytsia", as he considered its activities ineffective.
