According to ТСН: An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 occurred in the Black Sea near the temporarily occupied Sevastopol. Seismologists reported this. The tremors were recorded in the evening, and the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the sea at a distance of about 26 kilometers from Sevastopol.
The hypocenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10-16 kilometers, and the event occurred around 19:13 Kyiv time. Ukrainian specialists note that the earthquake is classified as noticeable.
Representatives of the occupying authorities in Sevastopol stated that the city's infrastructure has not been damaged.
The Crimean Peninsula is considered a seismically hazardous region, so underground tremors occur here from time to time.
Earthquake in Ternopil region
We also report that in the evening of December 11, another earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale occurred in the Ternopil region, which is also classified as noticeable.
These two earthquakes indicate seismic activity in Ukraine. The Crimean Peninsula, given its geological structure, often experiences earthquakes, while in other regions such as Ternopil, similar events are rarer. Monitoring of such phenomena continues to ensure the safety of local residents.
