Lukashenko Disappears During Visit to Oman: What We Know About His Silence.
According to ТСН: The self-proclaimed 'president' of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, unexpectedly 'disappeared' from the information space during his visit to Oman. Neither the official media of Oman nor Belarusian propaganda publications are covering his stay in the country, which raises certain questions.
Unknown Information About the Visit
An unofficial Telegram channel of Lukashenko's press service reported that he arrived in Muscat on November 28 around 19:30 Minsk time. However, since then, there has been no information about his working visit in either Belarusian or Omani media.
According to some data, Lukashenko was met at the airport by the President of the Omani Investment Agency, Abdul Salam Al Murshidi, but there are no mentions of the visit or the meeting on the agency's websites. Information on this issue is also absent from the official websites of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the royal office.
Questions Without Answers
Key Omani media outlets, such as Oman News Agency, Al Watan, Times of Oman, Oman Daily Observer, Muscat Daily, and Oman Tribune, have also not reported on the presence of the Belarusian president in the country.
On November 29, Lukashenko's press service published only a few messages that did not mention the visit to Oman, but rather only contained greetings and condolences:
“greetings to the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and condolences to the President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto due to floods and landslides in Sumatra.”
Prior to the visit, it was mentioned that Lukashenko intended to 'discuss in detail' with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said practical steps regarding the development of previously reached agreements. However, the specific details of the discussions remain unknown.
This visit by Lukashenko to Oman has attracted considerable attention and raised numerous questions, as the information silence regarding his stay in the country has already created certain suspicions. The lack of reports from local or Belarusian media calls into question not only the details of the visit but also the very purpose of the trip. Whether Lukashenko will be able to establish a dialogue with Omani leaders remains to be guessed.
