According to UATV: On February 3, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte traveled to Kyiv, where he delivered an address at the opening of the 15th session of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. His speech focused on the alliance's support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Rutte highlighted that since the summer of 2022, NATO allies have supplied Ukraine with approximately 75% of all missiles for the front line and about 90% of the missiles for its air defense systems. This visit underscores the alliance's sustained commitment as the conflict continues.

Honoring Fallen Defenders

During his trip, Mark Rutte joined Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in paying tribute to fallen Ukrainian defenders at Independence Square. The NATO Secretary General remarked:

“Every time I come here, I see the courage of this country's people and their energetic determination.” - Mark Rutte

Rutte also expressed hope for the completion of a prosperity agreement between the European Union, Ukraine, and the United States. He added:

“As soon as a peaceful agreement is reached, armed forces will appear, aircraft will be in the air, and support will be at sea.” - Mark Rutte
