According to TSN.ua: Between March 28 and 29, 2023, Russia launched large-scale assaults on Ukraine using drones and missiles. These operations caused destruction and casualties across multiple regions of the country.
On March 28, 2023, the Russian military struck Ukraine. The following day, March 29, the assault targeted the Khmelnytskyi region, where air defense systems were active. In Mykolaiv Oblast, a drone attack wounded eight people, including seven children. Meanwhile, in Konotop, Sumy Oblast, a strike hit civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv Oblast, the attacks damaged agricultural enterprise facilities.
Consequences of the Strikes
On the same day, a drone struck energy infrastructure in Odesa Oblast. From March 28 to 29, Russian forces deployed an aeroballistic Kinzhal missile and 442 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted 380 of these enemy UAVs.
When asked about the aftermath, officials stated that no reports of fatalities or injuries had been received as of now. Serhiy Tiurin reported:
“As of now, no information on deaths or injuries has come in.”Vitaliy Kim added that
“necessary medical assistance is being provided.”Mykola Kalashnyk noted:
“Our skies are held by air defense forces. There are downed targets.”
These events once again highlight the severity of the situation in the region and the urgent need to bolster air defense systems.
The Russian military's attacks on Ukraine on March 28–29, 2023, underscore an escalation in the conflict and the ongoing threat to civilians. The high effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense, which managed to shoot down a significant number of enemy drones, demonstrates the country's capacity to resist aggression.
