Chernihiv Oblast and Donetsk Oblast are left without electricity after nighttime attacks by the Russian Federation.
According to ТСН: Power outages due to nighttime attacks have caused serious problems in Ukraine, especially in Chernihiv and Donetsk regions, where electricity has disappeared in almost all populated areas.
Situation in the regions
This was reported by the head of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo", Vitaliy Zaichenko, during a telethon. He stated that on the night of December 7, Russian troops carried out attacks on energy facilities in Poltava and Chernihiv regions. Zaichenko emphasized that attacks in Chernihiv Oblast occur almost daily, complicating the situation in the region. Also, on the night of December 8, Russia struck energy networks in Donetsk Oblast.
«It seems that it is hardest there right now. Outages continue, repair crews are working,
— he added.
Repair work and its results
Zaichenko also noted that repairs in Poltava Oblast have been successfully completed, so the electricity outage schedules are now synchronized with the nationwide ones. It is recalled that earlier it was reported that due to numerous rocket and drone strikes by Russia on energy facilities, from December 9, restrictions on electricity consumption are being introduced in all regions of Ukraine.
The energy situation in Ukraine remains critical, and each new attack significantly affects the stability of electricity supply. Authorities and energy companies continue to do everything possible to restore infrastructure and provide the population with electricity, despite ongoing threats.
