Mass blackout in the Moscow region: over 600 thousand people left without electricity.
According to ТСН: A massive power outage occurred in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation, affecting several large areas.
According to Russian media, over 600 thousand people were left without electricity. This happened at a time when there was a threat of drone attacks, and the Moscow mayor's office reported on the operation of air defense. The most challenging situation is observed in Ramenskoye, Zhukovsky, and Lyubertsy.
In addition to power issues, residents are also complaining about disruptions in internet and mobile communication. The local administration of the Ramensky urban district confirmed the fact of the outage. According to the official version, the cause of the blackout was a fire on an electrical bus at a power supply center in Donino.
“Currently, the reconnection of consumers to backup power sources is ongoing where technically possible. The remaining network sections are under repair. The estimated time for restoration of service is 2 hours,” the administration's message stated.
According to Russian media, despite official statements about a “technical malfunction,” the incident occurred against the backdrop of an active drone attack. Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the destruction of three drones approaching the capital. Although Russian authorities do not directly link the operation of air defense, the fall of debris, and the fire at the energy facility in Donino, social media users are drawing connections between these events.
Moreover, the company “Rosseti Moscow Region” confirmed the lack of voltage in several settlements. The exact cause of the fire at the substation remains officially “unknown.” Security measures continue to be in effect in the region due to the potential reappearance of drones.
Meanwhile, on the night of December 29, a series of explosions were recorded in various regions of Russia. Reports indicate that the Khansk airfield in Maykop was under attack, and a missile danger was declared in Tula.
Previously, there were also reports of several drone attacks in the city of Syzran in the Samara region of the Russian Federation.
The events in the Moscow region underscore the tense situation in the area related to drone attacks. The mass power outage and the presence of security measures confirm the relevance of the threats faced by Moscow and surrounding areas. These events may affect the everyday lives of people and become an integral part of the broader security picture in the country.
