According to TSN.ua: Two nurses at a children's psychiatric hospital in Zhytomyr are accused of beating and torturing a 17-year-old patient. The incident occurred after the girl was admitted to the facility in late December 2025. According to reports, another minor patient witnessed the physical abuse inflicted by the nurses. This case highlights ongoing concerns about patient safety in institutional care settings.
Available information indicates the nurses struck the girl while she was restrained by medical straps. In connection with these events, both nurses have been formally notified of suspicion for committing a criminal offense under parts 1 and 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which covers battery and torture. A pre-trial investigation into the matter is currently underway.
