The Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has sentenced the mayor of Drohobych, Taras Kuchma, to pay a fine for violating mobilization measures. This was reported by Zaxid.net.

The TCC management wrote a letter to the police about the forced summon after the mayor ignored the first invitation from the military enlistment office.

Earlier, the Association of Cities of Ukraine published an appeal to the president regarding pressure on local self-government bodies. The reaction of ACU was provoked, in particular, by a letter from the Drohobych RTC and SP to the police about delivering Kuchma to the TCC.

According to the mayor, he indeed had to come to the TCC, but did not do so due to scheduled official events for the Day of Unity and a meeting of a fallen soldier.

«We wrote a letter that we would not come, and if there are any questions, write, we will respond. In response, the TCC management sent a letter to the police about delivering the mayor,» he stated.

Journalists note that fines for failing to fulfill the mobilization task and violating mobilization measures were imposed on the mayor of Drohobych as well as the mayors of other cities in the region (Truskavets, Skhidnytsia, Boryslav, Medenychi) according to the order of the district military administration. A fine of about 36 thousand hryvnias has been imposed for such violations.

At the same Time, Kuchma disagreed with the TCC's decision. The mayor believes that city heads do not have the authority to deliver people to the TCC.

«There is a resolution that obliges us to carry out mobilization tasks without granting any powers. How can the head of the city deliver people to the TCC for conscription?» the mayor added.

The Mayor of Drohobych stated that he would not pay any fines and promised to appeal the decision.

As a reminder, in Odesa region, a man was sentenced to three years in prison for refusing mobilization.

As reported, in Khmelnytskyi region, a man who refused mobilization «for religious reasons» was sentenced to three years in prison.

By the way, since the start of the recruitment centers for the Ukrainian army, 8053 people have already become candidates for the Defense Forces, 20% of whom are women.
