Zaporizhzhia without communication and sirens: how warning systems will operate

According to ТСН: In the Zaporizhzhia region, serious infrastructure issues have arisen due to mass power outages. Mobile communication is operating in emergency mode, and air raid sirens are temporarily non-functional.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported:

“All base stations are being switched to battery power — this resource will last approximately 8 hours. Meanwhile, operators, together with local government authorities, are deploying generators to maintain communication further on.”

He also urged residents to limit the use of mobile communication without urgent need, to use national roaming and internet messengers. It is recommended to use stationary internet via GPON technology, as the quality of the signal may significantly deteriorate due to network overload.

The police reported that in case of an air raid, crews will inform residents through loudspeakers:

“We are always ready to help. Despite communication disruptions, you can contact the patrol officers directly on the streets — they are easy to recognize by their flashing lights even in complete darkness.”

In addition to alarm signals, patrol officers will also provide information about the nearest “Unbreakable Points,” which have already started operating in the city. These points are equipped with heat, water, electricity for charging gadgets, and stable communication.

What is known about the situation in the region?

Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions experienced blackouts due to hostile strikes. The Ministry of Energy confirmed that as a result of today’s attack, these regions were almost completely de-energized.

In connection with this, “Ukrzaliznytsia” has switched train traffic to backup power.

All substations and CHPs in Dnipropetrovsk region have also been halted. The region has been left without light, water, and heating. The head of the Regional Military Administration calls on people to stock up on water if it is still available.

In light of this energy collapse, it is important for residents to stay informed about events and follow the recommendations of local authorities. Joint efforts will help improve the situation and ensure the safety of citizens in these challenging conditions.

The authorities continue to work on restoring energy supply and infrastructure, as well as providing support to those in need. The situation remains monitored, and citizens will receive updates in real-time.
