The Naval Forces Ensure the Passage of Civilian Vessels Through the Maritime Corridor
In 2024, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully ensured the passage of civilian vessels through the maritime corridor.
This was reported by Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, during the specified period, 9061 vessels passed through the corridor, 4651 of which arrived in Ukraine, while 4410 went to other ports.
'This allowed Ukraine to export over 74.4 million tons of cargo, including agricultural products, which is critically important for supporting our economy and the world's food security. After all, almost 80% of cargo is transported by sea,' Neizhpapa noted.
Neizhpapa emphasized that the safety of navigation is ensured by the constant work of the ship's crew and divers of the Naval Forces.
'We have destroyed many 'drifting' mines, and there has been no case of detonation on naval mines in the ports. We also constantly escort cargo vessels,' he reported.
