Fatal Crash in Khmelnytskyi Region

According to TSN.ua: A devastating head-on collision between an SUV and a compact car has claimed the life of a 28-year-old mother and left her two young children with severe injuries. The tragedy occurred on March 29 around 8:35 PM near the village of Davidkivtsi. The driver of a Mazda CX-5 crossover, a 39-year-old man from Kropyvnytskyi, collided with a Daewoo Matiz operated by the deceased woman.

The woman’s children—a 1-year-old infant and a 6-year-old—sustained critical injuries and are currently being treated in the intensive care unit of Khmelnytskyi City Children’s Hospital. Additionally, a 26-year-old female passenger in the Mazda CX-5 suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Police Response

Law enforcement detained the Mazda CX-5 driver at the scene. A criminal investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of 3 to 8 years in prison.
