In Kyiv region, a mother was sentenced to 14 years for setting her own son on fire.

Conviction of a woman for the murder of her son

According to ТСН: A 60-year-old woman was sentenced in the Kyiv region for the intentional murder of her son, committed with particular cruelty. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators established that there had been many conflicts between the mother and son, which were particularly related to alcohol abuse.

“On the day of the tragedy, while also under the influence, the woman came to her 37-year-old son’s apartment. She entered his room, where he was sleeping, and poured a flammable substance on him, after which she set him on fire. The resulting burns were fatal - the man died in the hospital,”

- it is stated in the message.

In court, the woman partially admitted her guilt. According to paragraph 4 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Additionally, it is worth noting that in Mykolaiv, children tragically died at home alone.

This case concerns a tragic incident where family conflicts led to a horrific event.
