Additional checkpoint to open for two days on the border with Poland.
In Lviv region, on the border of Ukraine and Poland, an additional checkpoint will be opened for two days. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
From August 16 to 17, the "Korczmin - Staiivka" crossing will open as part of the "European Days of Good Neighborliness".
Citizens wishing to participate in the program will be able to cross the border at the temporary crossing point in the Belz community from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on August 16 and 17.
Pedestrian passage will be allowed.
The project "European Days of Good Neighborliness. Memory that unites" aims to overcome barriers between Poles and Ukrainians, cultures of the East and the West, Latin and Byzantine traditions.
As part of this project, cross-border meetings of understanding and reconciliation are held in the villages. There is also a prayer pilgrimage to the miraculous spring of the Mother of God and commemoration of the deceased on the occasion of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
At the "Hrebenne - Rava-Ruska" checkpoint, there may be traffic complications due to repair work, which will last until September 12, 2024. The work is being carried out at the entrance to Ukraine at the passenger lane and at the cargo parking lots at the entrance and exit.
In addition, it is planned to build an additional cargo terminal and pedestrian crossing at the "Yahodyn-Dorohusk" checkpoint, which are expected to be completed by August 2025.
