Odessa Farmer Dug a Pond Without Permission: He Faces Up to 3 Years in Prison.
In Odessa region, a man decided to create an artificial pond without permits to breed fish. He faces up to three years of restriction of liberty for this. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odessa region.
The Man Dug Himself a Pond
The police reported that a 35-year-old man had no permits and planned to use the water body for his own needs. He chose a plot on the banks of the Chichiklia River and borrowed an excavator from a friend, convincing him that he had the right to perform dredging works. As a result, he illegally created an artificial pond with a volume of over 8,600 cubic meters and an area of over 0.3 hectares.
Punishment for Illegal Acquisition of Land
The law enforcement authorities filed charges under the article concerning illegal acquisition of the surface layer of land of the water fund in particularly large amounts. The maximum penalty is up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities.
