Brutal murder in Uman region: man cut off neighbor's head, mistaking him for an occupier.

According to ТСН: In one of the villages of the Uman region, a horrific crime occurred: during a joint consumption of alcohol, a 56-year-old man inflicted several stab wounds on his 61-year-old acquaintance and then cut off his head. The suspect claims that the motive was supposedly a mistaken belief that his friend was a Russian occupier.

This incident occurred on December 10. The suspect in the brutal murder has been detained.

'During the quarrel, the 56-year-old man grabbed a knife and inflicted several wounds on his 61-year-old opponent. After that, he cut off his head.The perpetrator went to the neighbors and told them about the murder. They called the police. The reason for the brutal act, according to the suspect, was that he imagined his friend was a Russian occupier,' the police reported.

Legal consequences

The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators of the Uman District Prosecutor's Office have already informed him of the suspicion of committing intentional murder (part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the police, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect — detention without the right to bail. For his actions, the man faces up to 15 years in prison.
