Ukrainian National Guard soldiers shot down a cruise missile. This happened during a morning enemy shelling on November 17, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to the police, National Guard soldiers were conducting training in the Vinnytsia region. With the help of a large-caliber Browning machine gun, they successfully shot down an enemy cruise missile.
«This happened during today's combined mass attack by the Russians. After being hit, the missile changed its trajectory and fell among the fields. The detonation did not occur,» law enforcement officials stated.
It is recalled that in the morning of November 17, Russian occupying forces launched a massive missile attack of various types. According to Zelensky, Russia launched about 120 missiles and 90 drones in total, air defense forces destroyed more than 140 aerial targets. Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko later stated that Russian terrorists were attacking energy system facilities across the country with missiles. Emergency power outages were introduced.
