Ukrainian Women Hospitalized Following Assault with Baseball Bats in Poland
According to TSN.ua: Two Ukrainian women were attacked and beaten with baseball bats by football hooligans in the Polish town of Pruszków, near Warsaw. The assault occurred late on Saturday evening, and the victims required hospital treatment before being discharged. Police have since detained four suspects in connection with the violent incident.
The assailants, who wore balaclavas and were also armed with pepper spray, demanded to see the women's identification documents during the attack. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety for the large Ukrainian refugee community in Poland. The victims were hospitalized for examination but were later released.
Police Detain Suspects and Continue Investigation
Authorities have arrested four Polish nationals in relation to the assault. The ages of those detained are:
- A 50-year-old man
- A 35-year-old man
- A 23-year-old man
- A 45-year-old woman
Deputy Commissioner Monika Orlik confirmed the details of the beating and stated that the investigation is ongoing. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid the inquiry.
