MP explains new restrictions for NABU and SAP.
People's Deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk stated that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will not lose their powers, but their activities will become more controlled. Now they will not be able to come with searches to businesses or citizens without a corresponding court decision.
This was stated by the deputy during the program 'Vechir.LIVE'.
MP explained how SAP and NABU will be controlled
According to him, this is not about restricting the independence of anti-corruption bodies, but about establishing 'preventive measures against arbitrariness'.
Kamelchuk also gave an example of the situation with the seized property of the 'NASH' TV channel. According to him, the total value of the confiscated property was about 8 million dollars, but only property worth 300 thousand dollars was put up for auction. The deputy called on NABU and SAP to investigate this case.
'Do you know how much property there was? For 8 million dollars. Do you know how much ARMA put up for sale at auction? For 300 thousand. I have a question: where is all this property? Why is NABU and SAP not investigating this? Please, here is a case for you: you can return almost 8 million dollars to the state', said Kamelchuk.
He emphasized that the state should be interested in returning these funds if it really seeks effective combat against corruption.
Recall that MP Oleksiy Kucherenko explained the bill on restrictions for NABU and SAP.
It is noted that on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 12414. 263 MPs voted 'for'.
The presented news is about the progress of the bill proposed by People's Deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk regarding the control of the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. Kamelchuk pointed out the need for control over the activities of these bodies, without limiting their independence, to ensure effective combat against corruption in Ukraine.Read also
