Kyiv Metro Station to be Renamed 'Rogoziv Yar' Following Public Vote.
New Name for Kyiv Metro Station
According to Novyny.live: Kyiv residents have selected a new name for the 'Mostytska' metro station through a public vote. The winning name, 'Rogoziv Yar', secured 41% of the votes. 'Zamkovyshche' came in second with 40%, while 'Rohostynska' placed third with 19%.
The poll was conducted via the 'Kyiv Digital' app, allowing citizens to participate directly in the naming process. This digital engagement is part of a broader trend in Ukrainian civic participation. The 'Rogoziv Yar' station will be situated at the intersection of Bilytska, Mezhova, and Pivnichno-Syretska streets. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the station, formerly known as 'Mostytska', is scheduled to open later this year, a development eagerly anticipated by the city's residents.
Infrastructure Expansion
As of mid-December 2025, the right-hand tunnel from 'Mostytska' to 'Syrets' station has already been completed. The 'Mostytska' station will be connected to 'Varshavska' station using a two-tier monolithic tunnel construction technique. This demonstrates active progress in the city's transport infrastructure, aimed at improving mobility for Kyiv's population.
The chosen name, 'Rogoziv Yar', reflects the cultural and historical aspects of the local area, an important element for the city's identity.

With the opening of the 'Rogoziv Yar' station, transport connections in the capital's Northern district are expected to improve, which should enhance the comfort and quality of life for residents. This infrastructure development is a crucial step toward modernizing the city's transport network and increasing its efficiency.
