Eight Wounded, Including Two Children, in Overnight Strike on Kramatorsk.
Kramatorsk Under Fire: Aftermath and Eyewitness Accounts
According to UATV: In the early hours of March 18, a Russian attack on Kramatorsk left eight people injured, two of them children. The assault involved the deployment of two FAB-250 aerial bombs, causing widespread destruction. Two apartment buildings and 26 private homes were damaged, with additional harm reported in the nearby settlements of Yarova, Druzhkivka, and Kostiantynivka, where three more people were hurt. This ongoing violence underscores the relentless danger faced by civilians in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
One of the injured children is currently in intensive care. Local resident Anastasia, who witnessed the tragedy, recounted her experience:
“We were drinking tea, celebrating our child’s birthday. In a second, my face was burned. The lights went out, we couldn’t see anything, everyone was screaming. Only my older son and I were hurt; the younger one was lucky.” - Anastasia
Anastasia also noted that this marked the fourth such bombardment of Kramatorsk, highlighting the recurring trauma for residents:
“This is already the fourth attack like this. We’ll clean everything up, close things down, and then figure out where to evacuate.” - Anastasia
Her words capture the fear and uncertainty gripping the city as the threat of further strikes looms large.
Kramatorsk in Crisis
The situation in Kramatorsk remains dire, with residents enduring repeated assaults that endanger both their lives and property. The frequency of these bombardments reflects escalating violence in the region, raising alarm not only among locals but also within the international community. The events in Kramatorsk are part of the broader ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine, emphasizing the urgent need to address humanitarian and security challenges in the area.
