Ukraine has released 150 soldiers who were held in Russian captivity. This is already the 61st exchange of prisoners of war, during which a total of 4131 individuals have been freed, including military personnel, civilians, and foreigners. They defended Ukrainian land in various regions of the country, and among them are representatives of different military units and officers.
Extension of martial law and mobilization
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws for the extension of martial law and mobilization until May 9, 2025. Martial law was introduced on February 24, 2022, due to the aggression of the Russian Federation. Mobilization involves conscription of citizens aged 18 to 60, unless they have legal grounds for postponement or exclusion from military registration.
Explosion near the TCK building
An explosive event occurred in Kamianets-Podilskyi near the building of the territorial recruitment and social support center. As a result, one person died and four others received moderate injuries. Details regarding the cause of the explosion have not yet been reported.
NSDC meeting
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine held a meeting chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Issues of support for citizens and Ukrainian businesses were discussed, as well as strengthening sanctions against Russia. They also discussed financial integrity in the country and halting shadow financial schemes.
Visit of the UK Foreign Secretary
UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Kyiv. He met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and discussed issues of support and strengthening sanctions against Russia.
