Residential building ruins after strike

According to ТСН: In the city center of Zaporizhzhia, Russian troops once again attacked residential areas. As a result of the shelling, three strikes were recorded, including on an infrastructure facility and a multi-story building. A guided aerial bomb hit a residential high-rise, destroying apartments.

The epicenter of the strike on the 7th floor

The 7th floor of the building suffered the most, where an enemy missile hit, causing a powerful fire. Svitlana, the daughter of pensioners whose home was at the epicenter, still cannot believe that her parents survived.

«The epicenter is right in their apartment. I don't know how miraculously they are still alive. The 'hit' from that side — my father went to the kitchen, while my mother was in the living room. Somehow, miraculously, I don't know,» Svitlana shares.

The victims, Mykola and Valentyna Sumachevy, recall the moment of the explosion with horror. The woman says that dust and debris immediately filled the surroundings.

«I call my husband, but he doesn't respond. The corridor to get out — it's all blocked: closets, a wall unit. Rescuers pulled us out, the fire hadn't started yet. They were running: 'It will burn soon!' That's how we got out, but everything stayed there,» shares Mrs. Valentyna.

Consequences of the attack: dozens injured and a child in the hospital

According to preliminary data, over 130 apartments have been damaged as a result of the explosion. The number of injured has already exceeded thirty, including a child. Many people are in shock, some are waiting for news about their relatives who were at home during the attack.

The rescue operation continues

Emergency services and rescuers from the State Emergency Service are actively working at the scene. They are trying to extinguish the fire on the upper floors while simultaneously clearing the rubble.

«There may still be people under the rubble,» the State Emergency Service warns.

Psychologists are providing assistance to residents who, in just a few minutes, lost their roofs over their heads and their belongings. Search and rescue operations will continue until every meter of the destroyed structures has been checked.

This tragedy once again confirms the danger to civilians during wartime. The technologies used for combat put the lives and health of ordinary people at risk. The testimonies of those who survived demonstrate how important it is to have support in such a complicated situation, as many people were left without homes and loved ones.
