Odesa Court Receives Case of Man Accused of Four-Year Sexual Abuse of Niece.
Pre-Trial Investigation Concludes
According to TSN.ua: Law enforcement authorities in Odesa have concluded their pre-trial investigation and forwarded a case to court concerning a man accused of a series of sexual crimes against his underage niece. The abuse began when the child was just seven years old and continued for four years, with the last documented incident occurring when she was eleven.
Investigation Findings
The investigation established that the perpetrator recorded his actions on video. During searches, digital storage devices containing video files classified as child pornography were seized. The man is currently in custody without the possibility of bail.
Charges have been brought under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including:
- Article 153, Part 3 (sexual violence)
- Article 301, Parts 4 and 5 (coercing a child to participate in the creation of pornography)
- Article 301-1, Part 1 (possession of child pornography)
The suspect faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.
This case highlights the severe issue of child sexual abuse in Ukraine and the critical importance of an effective law enforcement response.
