The occupiers from Russia attacked the crossing over the Oskil River in Kupiansk at night on January 6. This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov.

Last night, the enemy tried to destroy the transport infrastructure, the crossing from the left bank of the Oskil to the right, which complicated the delivery of humanitarian cargo and evacuation. We are working on restoration. However, this has become a constant task for us, as the enemy attempts to destroy our logistics daily.

The head of the Kupiansk District Military Administration Andriy Kanashievych noted in an interview with the Suspilne TV channel that the situation remains tense and shelling continues throughout the combat zone.

Shelling is being carried out along the entire front line from Dvorichna to Kruhliakivka.

Kanashievych also reported that the enemy is actively using FPV drones.

Let us remind you that at the beginning of December, Russian troops attacked the Martenivka Line in the Kupiansk district. The fear for the start of Kupiansk turned into similar shelling in October to force the city to capitulate. The defense is prepared and not afraid of heavy offensive shelling and active counterattacks, but battles continue daily.

Offensive actions of the Ukrainian troops

Ukrainian forces resumed offensive actions in the Kursk region and made tactical advances on January 5. Russian sources reported that Ukrainian forces conducted mechanized assaults in the Berdynsk-Novosotnytsky direction and intensified offensive actions towards Leonidivka and Pushkarny. The front line is already two kilometers from Kupiansk.
