Problems with heating supply
He noted that the city is currently not ready to start a full-scale heating supply.
'The situation is such that for the next few weeks we cannot supply heating. We need to wait a bit to do everything correctly — so that it is warm in winter,' explained Sadovyi.
Limited gas volumes
In October, Lviv received only 8 million cubic meters of gas instead of the necessary 18 million, so heating is currently provided only to:
- schools;
- kindergartens;
- hospitals that submitted applications.
Call to residents
The mayor urged residents to prepare alternative heating sources and help those who cannot do this on their own.
Transition to testing mode
From October 11, the city is switching to to check the readiness of all services for the cold weather.
In addition, this week some traffic lights will be disconnected from the main power supply and switched to backup systems to ensure their operability during possible blackouts.
The delays in gas supplies and the decision to postpone the start of the heating season indicate serious challenges facing the city.
