Rescuers searched for miners for 14 days at a depth of 410 meters: how the aftermath of the accident was eliminated.

According to ТСН: Emergency service workers spent 14 days at a depth of 410 meters in the mine, where a slurry breach occurred. They eliminated the consequences of the accident and searched for the missing miners.

As a result of the breach in the mine, two miners died. Slurry is a mixture of small solid minerals, such as sand and granulated slag, with water.

Rescuers documented the work of the state mining rescue team, which operated under challenging conditions.

The main task of the rescuers was not only to eliminate the consequences of the accident but also to search for the miners who found themselves at the epicenter of the breach.

Challenges in the work

The operation was complicated by the large volume of slurry. Miners and rescuers performed a huge amount of work: pumping water from flooded levels, reloading and transporting the slurry, as well as searching for and evacuating the bodies of the deceased.

Let us remind you that on November 11, a hydraulic mixture breach occurred in the Ingulska mine, leading to the flooding of two levels. During the accident, four employees of the Sviteks company from Kryvyi Rih were working at the site: two of them managed to reach the surface, while the fate of the other two miners remained unknown. The elimination of the consequences of the accident was carried out by the emergency service rescuers together with the mine personnel, who pumped out water and monitored the gas.

Later it became known that as a result of the breach at the Ingulska mine, two miners died.

This tragedy once again highlights the risks miners face every day. While the activities of the rescuers were focused on searching for and eliminating the consequences of the accident, it is also important to address safety issues at the workplace and check technological processes to prevent similar incidents in the future.
