Starting from 2026, the Baby Package will include an updated vaccination calendar.
Updated 'Baby Package' in 2026
According to ТСН: In 2026, young parents will receive a new version of the 'Baby Package', which will contain more information about the 'Vaccination Calendar'. This will help better plan vaccinations and monitor the health of newborns.
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that the new issue of the 'Baby Package' will include detailed information on what vaccine should be administered at what age and how to organize visits to the pediatrician. According to the Ministry of Health, the first months of a child's life are critically important for making the right health decisions. Verified information will help reduce parents' anxiety and prevent the spread of misinformation.
Vaccination Schedule
The updated 'Vaccination Calendar' states that vaccination begins right in the maternity hospital. For example, the tuberculosis (BCG) vaccine is administered within the first 24 hours after birth, allowing mothers and newborns to return home sooner if their health is satisfactory.
The subsequent vaccination schedule is as follows:
2 months – first dose of inactivated poliovirus vaccine and combined vaccine against hepatitis B, whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, and Hib infection;
4, 6 and 18 months – subsequent vaccination stages;
1 year and 4 years – vaccination against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious infectious diseases. Providing current information in the 'Baby Package' will help raise parents' awareness and ensure the health of newborns in their first years of life.
As a reminder, we previously reported that the government approved a resolution on the restoration of monetary compensation for the 'Baby Package', which was temporarily suspended since January 1, 2025.
The updated 'Baby Package' reflects the government's efforts to improve medical care for newborns and raise parents' awareness of the importance of vaccination. Thanks to the new materials, parents will be able to better navigate the vaccination schedule and the importance of each stage, which is crucial for the health of their children.
