'As the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus', I deeply believe that the Russian Orthodox Church with centers in Moscow, Kyiv, and other historical cities of Holy Rus' is an important factor preserving our unity,' stated Patriarch Gundyayev. He also expressed concern for the Ukrainian people.

The bill prohibiting the activities of religious organizations with centers in the aggressor country in Ukraine was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law prohibiting the Moscow church, which operates in Ukraine under the brand of UOC-MP.
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, reacted sharply to the ban on the activities of religious organizations whose leadership is in Russia. He condemned the ties of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate with Russia.
