In Kyiv region, a 19-year-old worker stole a Tesla from his boss and crashed into a tree.

According to ТСН: In the Kyiv region, a 19-year-old young man stole a Tesla Model 3 from his employer and got into an accident, crashing into a tree.

According to the police of Kyiv region, the young man worked as a laborer for the victim. After finishing work, they both went to a local store. When the car owner went inside for a moment, the offender, who stayed in the Ford car, took the opportunity and stole the garage keys from the inside of the car where the Tesla Model 3 was parked.

"After the man paid the offender for the work done, the latter went to consume alcoholic beverages. Subsequently, while under the influence of alcohol, he entered the territory of the victim's property and opened the garage using the stolen keys. Inside, he found the key card for the Tesla, started the car and drove away," the report states.

It turned out that while driving the stolen vehicle, the young man lost control and crashed into a tree. During the check, he was found to have 2.14 per mille of alcohol — which is 10.7 times the allowable limit.

Note: The permissible blood alcohol content for a person operating a vehicle is 0.2 per mille. To understand, 1‰ is one-thousandth of something, meaning per mille is like a percentage but 10 times smaller (meaning 1% is 10‰).

The offender was detained, and the investigators of the Bucha district prosecutor's office informed him of the suspicion of illegal vehicle appropriation with entry into the premises (part 2 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, administrative materials were drawn up against the driver under part 2 of Article 126 and part 1 of Article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

The suspect faces up to eight years in prison.

This incident once again reminds us of the dangers associated with alcohol consumption and the lack of responsible attitude towards road safety. Recent events underscore the importance of adhering to traffic rules and exercising caution while driving, especially under the influence of alcohol.
