Yulia Tymoshenko has been announced suspicion: what is known about the NABU case.
According to ТСН: The leader of the "Batkivshchyna" party, people's deputy Yulia Tymoshenko received a suspicion from NABU and SAP. She confirmed that searches are taking place in the office of her political force.
Tymoshenko's suspicion
This morning it became known about the announcement of suspicion to Tymoshenko, but the details of the case have not yet been disclosed. The spokesperson of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Olga Postolyuk, noted that the suspicion was announced under Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"This is an offer of illegal benefits to officials, referring to a people's deputy of Ukraine," said Postolyuk.
Tymoshenko's statement
During her speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Tymoshenko stated that NABU is a tool of political pressure, and the recordings in which her voice is allegedly heard, she described as just "emotions". She also confirmed the information about the searches in the "Batkivshchyna" office on Facebook, but did not comment on the suspicion.
"Just now, the so-called "urgent investigative actions" in the party office of "Batkivshchyna" finished, which lasted all night," emphasized the politician, calling the actions of law enforcement illegal and unlawful.
Tymoshenko claims that more than 30 armed men without presenting documents "essentially seized the building and took employees hostage". She believes the search is a huge PR move, claiming that the law enforcement officers "found nothing", but took her work phones, deputy documents, and personal savings, the data of which is in the official declaration. Tymoshenko is confident that this is a "political order" for "cleaning up competitors" ahead of possible elections.
"I categorically reject all absurd accusations," emphasized Tymoshenko.
Official statement of NABU
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau confirmed that the leader of the parliamentary faction was announced suspicion. According to the investigation, after the discovery of facts of obtaining illegal benefits by people’s deputies, Tymoshenko initiated negotiations with certain deputies to establish a mechanism for providing illegal benefits in exchange for loyalty during votes.
It was noted that it is not only about one-time agreements but about systematic cooperation that envisaged regular payments. Deputies were given instructions regarding voting.
Details of the case
NABU also published recordings of conversations with Yulia Tymoshenko, which allegedly confirm negotiations on providing illegal benefits to people's deputies.
