The Regulations Committee voted for the suspension of Poroshenko

This morning, the Regulations Committee voted for the suspension of the leader of 'European Solidarity' Petro Poroshenko for one plenary session. This is a recommendation from the committee that must be confirmed by the Council. If the plenary session lasts continuously, the sanction may be in effect until August.

This decision is related to the vote that took place on December 18 of last year. At that Time, deputies voted for the exclusion of Yuri Boyko from the Committee on Human Rights, De-Occupation, and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities, and Inter-Ethnic Relations after provocative statements.

The head of the Regulations Committee, Mykyta Poturayev, stated that Poroshenko behaved unacceptably after the failure of the vote. He described how Poroshenko spoke rudely to Bohdan Yaremenko, which became one of the reasons for the suspension:

To which Poroshenko said to him: 'Go to hell!'

Poturayev claims that he demanded an apology from Poroshenko, not his suspension. He emphasized that Poroshenko missed many sessions and did not contribute to the work of the Council:

Poroshenko missed 65% of the sessions. He said that the Council is engaged in nonsense and that he is helping the front and conducting diplomatic negotiations. Let him continue to go to sessions; he doesn't need it.
