According to ТСН: Poland has activated its air defense forces, raising their readiness after Russian MiG-31 fighters headed west on November 28. Although the planes did not cross the border, the Polish army decided to enhance the preparation of its defense systems, particularly the Patriot.

Power of MiG-31

These planes can reach speeds of up to 3000 km/h, allowing them to cover the distance to Polish airspace in less than 15 minutes. The MiG-31 is also equipped with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, making them a serious threat to NATO, which is closely monitoring their flights.

"This is another provocation from the Kremlin. Russia is constantly testing us; they want to see our reaction," a source in NATO told BILD.

NATO's Readiness

According to the source, even with the increased readiness of the North Atlantic Alliance's air defense systems, Russian surveillance systems can detect these actions. However, NATO claims it is prepared for any challenges.

"Let them know: we are always ready to defend NATO territory," an officer emphasized.

Previously, NATO also discussed the possibility of shooting down Russian aircraft.

"Why shoot down a plane that does not pose an immediate threat? That would be truly absurd," NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed his surprise.

This situation highlights the tension in relations between NATO and Russia, triggered by the activity of Russian military forces. The enhancement of Poland's air defense readiness indicates a serious attitude toward threats in the region and the need to ensure the security of NATO countries. NATO's adequate response to Russia's actions raises important questions regarding the future security strategy in Europe.
