Wounded soldiers will receive the 'Wounded Package' this year: what it includes.
The government of Ukraine is implementing a new initiative - the issuance of the 'Wounded Package', which will include adaptive clothing and personal hygiene products. This package will be received by wounded and ill military personnel, police officers, as well as civil protection service members. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk, noted that the 'Wounded Package' will cover the basic needs of a person in the first days after hospitalization. The adaptive clothing will be functional and comfortable even in difficult circumstances, taking into account the needs of the wounded and persons with limited mobility.
Adaptive clothing has special fasteners for easy dressing, made of soft and elastic materials for comfort and free movement. It has a loose fit and adjustable elements to facilitate dressing and support autonomy. The 'Wounded Package' will also include personal hygiene products such as towels, a toothbrush, shower gel, and other essential items.
Moreover, military personnel who participated in combat operations will now be entered into the Unified State Register of War Veterans within five days. Special authorized persons will be appointed to collect and transmit information about the military.
Details of the new initiative
The 'Wounded Package' includes:
- Adaptive clothing, including T-shirts, shorts, long and short-sleeved shirts, trousers, socks, slippers, and a towel;
- Personal hygiene products, including towels, a shaving razor, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, antiseptic, wet and dry wipes, moisturizing cream, sanitary paper products, and a kit holder;
- Additional items for women, such as a hairbrush, pads, cosmetic cotton pads, cotton swabs, and a hair tie;
- Individual items for bedridden patients and persons with disabilities, including a feeding cup and an adaptive spoon-fork.
This initiative aims to support military personnel and other service members who have suffered while performing their duties, ensuring their comfort and hygiene in the first days after hospitalization.
Also, according to the order of the Ministry of Defense, the participation of military personnel in combat operations will be recorded in the Unified State Register of War Veterans within five days. This will allow monitoring and regulating the implementation of legislative requirements in this area.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense is facilitating the process of conducting military operations by commissioning the Ukrainian ground drone complex 'Logistics Snake'. This robot will perform logistical and evacuation tasks in the combat zone. The 'Logistics Snake' takes into account the requirements for ballistic and anti-mine protection and is inconspicuous in the terrain due to its low height.
