January 8 in Ukraine: frost and snow in the west, rain and warmth in the south.
According to ТСН: On Thursday, various weather conditions will be observed in Ukraine: in some regions there will be frost and snow, while in others - warm weather.
Forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center report that such contrasting weather conditions are caused by an active southern cyclone, which is moving from Odesa through the central regions to Sumy. This will lead to significant changes in the weather, dividing the country into three zones.
Weather conditions in different regions
- In the western, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions, heavy snowfall, blizzards, and cold weather are expected.
- In Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions - a transitional zone from cold to warm, with moderate precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain, icy conditions, and wet snow sticking.
- In the rest of the country, rain and warmth are expected.
Throughout the day, it will be cloudy in most regions. In the western, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regions, heavy snowfall and blizzards are possible during the day. The temperature will fluctuate from -2 to -7 degrees Celsius.
In Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions, significant wet snow and rain, icing, wet snow sticking, and icy roads are forecasted. The temperature during the day will be 0-5°C warm.
In most of the territory, moderate rain is expected with temperatures from +7°C to +12°C.
Don’t forget that the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned about heavy snowfall and Arctic cold from January 8 to January 11. In the western, northern, and central regions, heavy snowfall, wet snow, blizzards, and wind gusts of up to 18 m/s may occur.
Weather in Kyiv
In the capital and region, it will be cloudy during the day with expectations of significant wet snow and rain, as well as icy conditions on the roads. The wind will be northeast, 7-12 m/s.
The temperature in the Kyiv region will be 0-5°C warm, while in Kyiv itself - 0-2°C warm.
Among the forecasts, special attention should be paid to heavy snowfall, which may complicate transportation and create dangerous conditions on the roads. It is recommended to be cautious while moving and to follow updates on weather forecasts.
