No Delivery of Summons via 'Diia' or 'Reserve+': Lawyer Suggests Alternative Method.
Current Developments on Electronic Summons
According to TSN.ua: Currently, no summons are being sent in Ukraine via the 'Diia' or 'Reserve+' apps. This is confirmed by military lawyer Taras Borowskyj. He points out that while delivery via email is theoretically conceivable, the introduction of electronic summons is not expected before April 1, 2024. Claims about an imminent start of such measures are therefore unfounded.
In preparation for a large-scale campaign to update military conscription data in spring 2024, millions of citizens have registered their email addresses in the relevant databases. This could indicate future changes in the procedure for delivering summons. Taras Borowskyj also stated that electronic summons are likely to be introduced at some point, but specific timelines and implementation details remain unknown. The current preparations only create the technical conditions for this step.
For Ukrainian citizens, this means: summons will not be delivered electronically for the time being. However, the possibility of future introduction remains.
The introduction of electronic summons could fundamentally change the conscription process in Ukraine and simplify it for both citizens and authorities. Taras Borowskyj
Updating email addresses in the databases is an important step in preparing for this potential innovation. It is advisable to follow the official announcements from the authorities, which could provide further details on the timelines and conditions for the introduction of electronic summons.
