A large-scale air raid alert was declared across Ukraine on February 12. At 19:42, an explosion was heard in the city of Sumy, causing alarm among the local population. The Air Force stated in a message:
“High-speed target in the Sumy region, heading towards Poltava region!”Furthermore, reports emerged of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating near the borders of the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regions, moving on a westerly course. Additional UAVs from the Cherkasy region were reported moving towards the Kyiv region, specifically the Bila Tserkva district.
Regional Situation
These incidents point to an escalation in regions close to the border and highlight the critical need for heightened civilian preparedness for potential threats. The declaration of air raid alerts and calls to take shelter are vital measures for ensuring public safety in risk zones, especially under conditions of active military conflict.
The situation remains under the control of relevant services, which continue to monitor the airspace.
