Military Personnel Face Coverings: A TCC Official Clarifies the Permissible Circumstances.
Roman Istomin's Remarks on Mobilization
According to TSN.ua: Roman Istomin, a representative of the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC), has addressed the issues of military personnel concealing their faces and using mobile phones during mobilization. He clarified that covering one's face is not a violation if proper identification documents are presented. Istomin stressed that this practice complicates subsequent identification, which is crucial for investigations to determine the facts in the event of a conflict.
Mobile Phone Usage
Additionally, Roman Istomin noted that mobilized individuals sometimes post videos and information online revealing the locations of assembly points and TCC offices. Consequently, phones may be confiscated from mobilized personnel on the initiative of district TCCs to ensure operational security. Istomin also pointed out that phone use was deemed hazardous following a series of such public disclosures. These measures reflect the heightened security environment in Ukraine, where information leaks can have immediate tactical consequences.
These comments underscore the critical importance of safety and confidentiality for military personnel during mobilization, especially in a context where information about their whereabouts could be exploited by the enemy.

The prohibition on mobile phone use is one of several measures aimed at mitigating the risk of information leaks that could threaten both the personal safety of service members and the overall security of military operations.
