Latvian border guards detained Ukrainians who organized the transportation of illegal immigrants.
In Latvia, two Ukrainian citizens were detained who were involved in the illegal transfer of 25 people of Asian descent across the Belarusian-Latvian border. This was reported by LSM.
Latvian border guards during the monitoring of border areas in Kraslava region noticed a minibus with a fake stencil that looked like the logo of the State Border Guard Service.
«The bus had a fake license plate that belonged to the actual border guard transport. The stopped Renault Master minibus was likely used to transport border violators», – the statement said.
During the document check, it was confirmed that both transporters are citizens of Ukraine.
It turned out that the men were trying to transport 25 people of Asian descent who were near the stopped vehicle and illegally crossed the Belarusian-Latvian border. The State Border Guard Service initiated a criminal case against these transporters.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Latvia, Richard Kozlovskis, stated that such cases indicate the existence of a large network of illegal migrant transportation, which has been around for a long Time and is an illegal business that generates billions.
Asset blocking and military assistance
Let us recall, it became known that the financial intelligence service of Latvia reported the blocking of assets of 147 people who fell under sanctions imposed against Russia and Belarus.
As previously reported, Latvia will transfer to Ukraine combat tracked reconnaissance vehicles CVR(T) purchased earlier in the United Kingdom.
By the way, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine, which will include armored personnel carriers.
It should be noted that Ukrainian intelligence officers received drones of various types, purchased with donations from Latvian citizens. This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
