Rybachuk: Russia's goal is to convince all Ukrainians to live under its flag.
According to ТСН: Putin has large plans for Ukraine that go beyond several regions or the so-called 'sanitary zones' — his goal is to seize the entire country. Russia aims to convince Ukrainians that it will be better and safer for them to become part of the Russian Federation.
This position was expressed by the head of the NGO 'Center for Common Actions' Oleg Rybachuk.
“Putin also called Europeans swine, who hoped to somehow gnaw at the roots and achieve the collapse of the Russian Empire and benefit from it. But I would also add here, so as not to narrow Russia's aspirations to five regions or some other zones, moratoria or sanitary zones. To the phrase that was voiced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, who said something like that the task of Russia is to convince all Ukrainians that it is better for them to become part of Russia. So as not to suffer, that is the task, and it does not boil down to some regions or zones,” said Rybachuk.
The expert is confident that Russia does not abandon this approach and seeks to break the resistance of Ukrainians at the mental level.
Ukraine's and Western partners' position
According to Rybachuk, Putin is not interested in a unified position of Ukraine and the West, as this would complicate Russian advancement after a possible temporary truce.
“Then the question arises: what next? Well, we now have to turn our heads towards Donald and the United States,” notes Rybachuk.
The expert also reminded that in the US a bipartisan bill has been prepared that envisages significant strengthening of sanctions in the fields of energy, shadow fleets and the banking system. However, their implementation depends on President Trump.
“There is one sentence that states that the introduction of them (sanctions — ed.) is exclusively the President of the United States. Well, nothing has changed here, we are hostages of that system that Trump built. And therefore, the question will now be what actions Trump will take in the event of a guaranteed refusal by Russia of the agreed package of Ukraine with Europeans and Americans,” he added.
Earlier, Oleg Rybachuk noted that discussions about elections have become a masterful way for Zelensky to divert attention to the USA.
These comments from Oleg Rybachuk underscore that Russia's strategy towards Ukraine remains potentially threatening. According to the expert, Moscow intends to continue its aggressive policy, focusing on the psychological impact on Ukrainian society. At the same time, actions from the USA and the West, including possible new sanctions, may significantly affect this situation in the future.
