According to ТСН: Chernihiv region is once again under attack. In the evening, Russian occupiers carried out a massive drone airstrike on Novhorod-Siverskyi, particularly in the city center, where administrative and residential buildings are located.

Fire in the police station and police response

As a result of the attacks, a fire broke out in the premises of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district police department, causing significant damage to the building. Law enforcement officers are already working at the shelling sites, documenting the consequences of these war crimes. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning violations of the laws and customs of war.

Death of a person and the scale of destruction

New data has emerged about the injured and the scale of destruction. The head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov, confirmed the tragic news on his Facebook.

«Unfortunately, during the shelling, a 50-year-old local resident died in his own home. Sincere condolences to the relatives and friends!»

Oleksandr Seliverstov also provided details of the attack:

  • The enemy used 4 attack UAVs of the type 'Geranium-2'.

  • In addition to the police department, the medical college building was damaged.

  • At least eight private residential houses and a civilian car were damaged.

This is not the first attack of Russian drones on Novhorod-Siverskyi: last month, during a similar shelling, private houses and a store were damaged.

The situation in Chernihiv region remains tense. These events highlight the ongoing threat faced by local residents and the importance of state support in protecting their rights and safety. The military and law enforcement agencies are trying to control the situation, ensuring appropriate security measures. Meanwhile, civilians live in constant fear, anticipating new attacks. Each such attack is another pain for a community trying to survive in the harsh conditions of war.
