Construction of fortification structures in Kharkiv region is completed

The construction of fortifications in Kharkiv region is almost finished, with practically all planned work completed. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting on December 5. A total of 800 checkpoints were built and equipped to ensure the safety of the region.

The government allocated significant financial resources for the implementation of important projects in the Kharkiv region. In particular, an additional 6 billion UAH was allocated for the construction of fortifications. Moreover, 2.4 billion UAH was directed to prepare the region for the heating season, and 2.7 billion UAH was allocated for the construction and equipment of shelters in schools. Additionally, 1.5 billion UAH is provided for supporting businesses in Kharkiv region. Funds were also allocated for the repair of apartment buildings and the equipping of shelters in regional hospitals.

Recall that in spring, an attempt was made by a small reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Russian Federation to penetrate the Ukrainian border in Kharkiv region. Ukrainian defenders halted the attack and eliminated some saboteurs. Others were forced to retreat back to Belgorod.

Draft law on the alienation of land during martial law

The government also approved a draft law that provides for the alienation of land for the construction and maintenance of engineering and fortification structures during martial law. This draft law complements existing laws on the legal regime of martial law and the transfer, forced alienation, or seizure of property. After the restrictions end, the land plot can be purchased back or returned to the owners according to current legislation.

Tender for guarding fortification structures in Sumy region

Interestingly, the state institution 'Infrastructure of Sumy' announced a tender for the guarding of fortification structures in Sumy region. The cost of such a project was 224.56 million UAH.
