Russian Forces Target Mykolaiv Region with Shahed Drones, Four Shot Down.
Strikes Hit Mykolaiv Region
According to TSN.ua: On March 9, the Russian military targeted a transport infrastructure facility in the Bashtanka district of Mykolaiv Oblast. According to reports, there were no casualties at the site. During this assault, Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted and destroyed four 'Shahed 131/136' attack drones.
"Last night, the enemy attacked a transport infrastructure object in the Snihurivka community with 'Shahed 131/136' drones," commented Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on the events.
In a separate series of attacks on the same day, Russian forces struck the Kutsurub community twice, deploying FPV drones and one 'Molniya' strike drone. Later that night, a massive Russian strike hit the city of Dnipro, injuring at least 10 people, including a 12-year-old boy. These attacks on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were carried out across three districts.
These coordinated strikes underscore the ongoing escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, particularly in its southern regions. The use of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles highlights a strategic shift in Russian combat tactics. Targeting transport infrastructure can severely disrupt logistics and the supply of vital resources in the region, a critical concern during wartime. The rising number of civilian casualties continues to raise serious alarms about the safety of populations in active combat zones.
