Russia produces 3000 Shahed drones per month: how drones have changed and where they are being prepared.
According to ТСН: Russia continues to enhance its military technologies. They have significantly upgraded the so-called 'Shahed' kamikaze drones and have achieved stable production of approximately 3,000 units per month.
How drones have changed
According to an expert, Russian engineers are constantly working on circumventing Ukrainian air defense. Recent data indicates that the modernization encompasses almost all major elements of UAVs. In addition to improving the body, the electronics have also been upgraded.
Russian specialists have enhanced the body, electronics, increased the warhead, changed the engine, and modernized GPS antennas, making the drone more stable and resistant to Ukrainian electronic warfare means. They have also begun using new communication methods.
Reconnaissance drones pose a threat in Ukrainian airspace, increasingly violating the airspace. The expert notes that there are problems with their elimination.
«Over Kyiv, reconnaissance drones flew for about 1.5 — 2 hours, although they should not have. They were not destroyed, despite having the supposed means. If light aviation had been operational, these reconnaissance drones would not have flown for so long — they would have been destroyed,» said Kryvolap.
The specialist emphasizes that despite the loud claims of Russian propaganda, the actual situation looks different. Indeed, Russia reached high production volumes last summer, producing around 100 UAVs daily.
In June, Russia reached a production level of 3,000 'Shaheds' per month, equivalent to about 100 per day, with plans to increase this number to 4,000 in October and 6,000 by the New Year, but these ambitions have not been realized.
This indicates that the enemy military-industrial complex has reached a certain technological or resource limit that it currently cannot overcome.
Aim at Europe and missile blackmail
The expert suggests that the accumulation of drones and the increase in the number of launch sites aim not only to terrorize Ukrainians. The Kremlin may be laying the groundwork for more massive provocations.
According to Kryvolap, there is a theory that the 'Shaheds' are being stockpiled for future attacks. The number of launch points has increased from 6-8 to about 20, and this is clearly their limit at the moment.
The second version regarding the accumulation of 'Shaheds' is their possible use in Europe.
The expert notes, that this could be an element of hybrid warfare and a means of intimidating the West. At the same time, Moscow is trying to present new missiles 'analogovnet', such as 'Iskander-1000' or the mythical 'Oreshnik'.
«This could be an attempt to intimidate Europe. In addition to stockpiling 'Shaheds', there has been information about creating a ballistic missile 'Iskander-1000' with a range of 850 — 1000 kilometers instead of 500 kilometers, but technically nothing new has happened there,» noted Kryvolap.
The specialist explains that behind loud names often hide old Soviet projects or minor modifications of already existing weapons.
«This is the same 'Iskander-M' that was originally designed for a range of 850 — 1000 kilometers. Similarly, the North Korean KN-23 (a copy of 'Iskander') flies at 850 kilometers, and the Ukrainian missile 'Sapsan' was also designed for 800 — 1000 kilometers,» emphasized the expert.
Regarding the deployment of new weapons in Belarus, the situation looks even more dubious. The expert expresses the opinion that this could be part of an information-psychological operation.
«The third attempt to intimidate Europeans is the statements about deploying 'Oreshnik' in Belarus, first one, then ten. Perhaps there are some 'underground communications'. No one has seen any confirmations that 'Oreshnik' physically exists,» said Kryvolap.
Let us remind that the President of Ukraine made a worrying statement about the 'Oreshnik' missiles in Belarus. He underscores that this creates a dangerous precedent for global security. Ukraine is already preparing a joint response to these actions together with international partners.
According to him, Kyiv has accurate information about where exactly in Belarus Russia is deploying 'Oreshniks'. Ukraine has passed this data to Western partners. The president also noted that destroying these missiles with conventional drones is impossible, so the key method of combat will remain economic pressure on production.
